Dungannon Swifts v Crusaders. Saturday 26th April. Sports Direct Premiership

25th Apr 2025

The last game of the season before the play offs sees Dungannon Swifts and Crusaders go “toe to toe” and the winner getting the fourth spot in the Sports Direct Premiership table. It all happens at Stangmore Park on Sturday 26th (5.30pm and Declan Caddell knows what the win could lead to and will set up accordingly whilst Rodney McAree, with an eye of next weeks Irish Cup Final, could name a tactical team that he feels could still take all three points and be fresh for the Final.

Declan Caddell is ready to send his team into battle and the win last week against Coleraine will help his team talk immensely before Crusaders take the field. It will be a simple message of more of the same from every player that played so well last week and with it th eresult will come. Josh Williamson is the only player from last week that is not available due to suspension but Stewart Nixon returns . Another back four performamance to rave about against Coleraine should see them all play again while up front Jay Boyd will certainly get the nod after his hat trick last week. Ross Clarke and Lloyd Anderson can also be called on from the bench when needed and if everything comes together it could be a good day for everyone in Red and Black.

Newly awarded Manager of the Year Rodney McAree has turned Dungannon Swifts around and with a chance of getting into Europe by winning the Irish Cup next week he also has a second chance if needed through the play offs and will be looking hard to getting into that position. He may though use the squad depth and make some important changes hoping to rest any player with a small injury but he could also field his trongest team to keep momentum going. John McGovern, Tomas Galvin and Andrew Mitchell have been pivotal in the Swifts success popping up with the goals but Gael Bigiriama and Dean Curry have also proved to be winners when needed. It is a big call for McAree and we wait to see what he does.

We are all set for a massive game with massive stakes and we call on Crusaders supporters to make the trip and get behind the team. Your support could push us over line like it has at important times this season and we need that again.  Tickets are available at https://dungannonswiftsfc.com/matchtickets/ So get the ticket and make your way to Stangmore Park for the later time of 5.30pm and give the team your backing. C'mon the Crues.
