It is split time fixtures for the Sports Direct Premiership and Crusaders have five massive games to play starting with Champions Linfield away on Tuesday night (7.45pm) A hard earned and well deserved win against Glentoran in Game 33 of the Premiership saw Crusaders finish fifth before the final five games and they head into them with confidence and hopes of going second by the end of the month and a european spot. Linfield have it all wrapped up and will receive a “guard of honour” from the last five teams they play but they will not take the foot off the pedal and will look to finish the season on a high.
It has been ten good days for Declan and the team preparing for this game as those with niggles or fatigue are all ready and bursting to take Linfield head on. Bar long term injured such as Billy Joe Burns and Adam Lecky and now Jacob Blaney Crusaders will have virtually everyone to pick from and the way they have trained and the use of R&R has been positive going into this. Daniel Larmour should step into Jacon Blaneys position while the rest of the back four will pick itself. Stewart Nixons performance against Glentoran could get him a start in this one while Philip Lowrys “man of the match” performance and goal against Glentoran will get him a start. Up front
Linfield will certainly have enjoyed wrapping up the title against Dungannon Swifts last week but it will be a professional attitude again from David Healys side when they take the field. We wait too see how they line up and it may be a chance to give playing time to those who have not had much since Christmas as squad rotation will be used so everyone can enjoy the run in without any pressure.
